Tej Azul

Tej Azul pairs deep teal corduroy with a yoke of matching teal velvet, worked across the shoulders, front and back. On the velvet, peacocks open their tails in dual-tone thread of cream and chocolate, worked in bharwa — a traditional filled embroidery — each fan unfolding in mirrored rhythm. Across the back, three peacocks spread side by side, warm and luminous against the depth of the blue.

The silhouette is Japanese: a kimono collar, dropped shoulders, and wide, fluid sleeves, cut to fall softly on the body rather than shape it. A tonal corded tie with a tassel closes the front, and two slanted pockets sit at the hip. Inside, a dark burgundy cotton lining carries the house signature — and a small detail, left for the wearer alone to find.
